It was the experience of assisting our Dad at his modest tile shop in the north of England which prompted us to launch Verdad. Though he labelled us "Sales Prevention Officers" and often lamented our lack of contribution to the business (albeit with affection), we did learn a thing or two whilst working with him:

  1. People long for tiles with bold, unique designs. Almost every day we would hear a prospective customer enter the shop and utter the same, memorable words: "I'm looking for something a little different." As we see it, what is currently available in the tile market isn't satisfying this demand.
  2. People, quite understandably, appreciate and value transparency. We observed on countless occasions how our Dad would be upfront with customers and would tell them exactly how much a particular tile had cost him before suggesting a fair and reasonable sales price for all parties. This honesty practically always led to the same outcome: a shake of hands and smiles all round.

These two learnings determined the approach we have taken with Verdad. We endeavour to bring one-of-a-kind tiles to the market and we disclose all aspects of our business, including a full breakdown of the costs of our products.

This is the Verdad way.
